Motor Neuroscience and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory
Welcome to the Motor Neuroscience and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory (MoNeL) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Housed within the Department of Health and Kinesiology, our laboratory investigates the neural mechanisms underlying movement deficits to develop innovative rehabilitation strategies. Our ultimate goal is to enhance functional independence and improve the quality of life for those we serve.
Building upon a strong foundation of collaboration with interdisciplinary teams across the UIUC campus, as well as leading external partners—including the University of Houston, TIRR Memorial Hermann, Houston Methodist Research Institute, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology—we continuously strive to bridge the gap between scientific discovery, technological innovation, and clinical application.
At MoNeL, research and education are deeply intertwined. We are dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians through rigorous mentorship and hands-on research. We invite you to explore our site to learn more about the people, projects, and discoveries driving our mission forward.
